Creating optimal health

“I know what I should be doing… I just don’t do it”

“I eat healthy and exercise… why do I struggle with my weight?”

“I’m working so hard… why don’t I see better results?”

Americans have a one in five chance of suffering from an Autoimmune condition. Functional Medicine focuses on identifying the “root cause” of these issues and creating optimal health vs. managing disease. As a specialist in Functional Nutrition, I work with clients to develop effective lifestyle strategies that can be implemented over time to solve issues like:

Pre Diabetes

High Cholesterol

High Blood Pressure

Joint Pain or Arthritis

IBS, Reflux and Digestive Problems

Obesity or Chronic Weight Gain

Fibromyalgia or Chronic Fatigue

High Blood Pressure

Migraines or Headaches

Thyroid Issues

Food Sensitivities

With Masters degrees in both Nutrition and Exercise Science and a certification in Functional Nutrition, I’ve worked in the field of Health and Wellness for over 30 years. Though science has evolved over time, my goal has always been to translate current research into effective lifestyle strategies, educating and empowering clients to reach their health and wellness goals.

Whether you’re trying to reduce joint pain from rheumatoid arthritis, complete a marathon without GI symptoms, or address a long history of migraines, a Functional Nutrition approach can help you reach your goals and improve your quality of life.  If you’re motivated and ready to optimize your lifestyle, then let’s work together to achieve the healthiest YOU!

my story

Though a long-time outdoor athlete, about ten years ago I felt age catching up with me. I developed fatigue, joint pain, GI issues, and struggled with sleep. My blood pressure and blood sugar were increasing, and I felt like I was “running in front of a moving train”. That’s when I learned the power of Functional Nutrition.

I was amazed to find I’d developed intestinal permeability, or “leaky gut”, resulting in a number of food sensitivities. This triggered autoimmune symptoms of IBS and rheumatoid arthritis. It took months of optimizing my diet, addressing nutrient deficiencies, improving gut health, managing sleep and stress, and addressing underlying issues, but gradually my symptoms began to improve.

Today I feel great, my joint pain is gone, and I’m participating in the sports I love. Like all my clients, I have to stay focused on maintaining a healthy balance in my life, but the effort is more than worthwhile. Now I’m passionate about helping others achieve and maintain optimal health.
